
- The cover of the Inaugural Program features a bold American flag and a large Eagle in flight. Originally, the Program sold for $1.00.
- The inside cover showcases an image of the White House and the words of John Adams: “I Pray Heaven to Bestow the Best of Blessings on This House and all that hereafter Inhabit it. May none but Honest and Wise Men ever rule under This Roof.”
- The Program includes a biography of the President entitled “Trailblazer on the New Frontier” and a biography of Vice President Johnson, “A Study in Leadership.”
- The Schedule of Events provides that Robert Frost recited a poem before the President was sworn into office by Chief Justice Earl Warren.
- Several pages are dedicated to photos of the President and the Vice President.
- Arthur Schlesinger, Jr. penned an article, “The Challenges at Home” which is printed in the Program. Likewise, Charles Bartlett authored a section titled “The Challenge Abroad.”
- A page is dedicated to a “Salute to the New States,” with images of Hawaii and Alaska.
